For book lovers, Hay offers nearly 30 various bookshops, selling both new and second-hand books, and is a haven for anyone interested in literature. It is renowned for the Guardian Hay Festival which offers a range of lectures given by a wide variety of speakers.

The local countryside offers wonderful walks of varying grades - Everything from long mountain walks in the nearby Brecon Beacons National Park to valley rambles in the picturesque Wye Valley. Come and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery and take time to relax.
